Christmas trees grown in North Devon

Checking out the Christmas Trees

Not sure if I have said before, but we have planted up a corner in one of the fields with Christmas trees!

100 were planted 5 years ago, followed by another 100 then another 100. So in theory we should have 300 Christmas trees growing away!

Hmmm if only. Unfortunately, I bit off more than I could chew. What seemed a good enterprising scheme at the time (when I had a bit of free time before the renovations) has been rather neglected.

As we come to the end of the renovations, time is freeing up, so we are able to concentrate on other things. We thought we should give the Christmas trees a bit of TLC.

We definitely don’t have 300, but trees of differing sizes depending on the weed competition they have been exposed to.

We will get them back under control, give them the attention they deserve, and Barbara is already talking of planting more!

Read my blog about buying a Victorian farm house in Devon, England. What started as a dream of self sufficiency, is now a midlife reality.
